Finished! Well, 98% finished as I am still adding in a few items here and there. I am so enormously pleased with how it turned out!
In case you missed it, let's do a before and after shall we?
Barf! That before killed me for 3+ years. Even though I have lost 2 shelves of storage space it really is no big deal. I was able to throw out a lot and rearrange things elsewhere.
So here are the final details...
Light fixture was a $6 clearance find at Lowes!
Bead board ceiling is 4x8 panels from Lowes.
Baseboards and ceiling crown is from Menards.
Flooring is from Home Depot.
Wall color is Sherwin Williams Popular Gray.
Shelves are 2x12 pine stained with Rustoleum Kona (shelf right above WD is 2x8).
Shelf brackets and wall hooks (mounted on scrap basebaord) are from Hobby Lobby.
Ironing board fabric is from Joann Fabric.
Iron board shelf is from Hobby Lobby.
If you have questions please ask! I would love to help.
I love that the sewing machine found a cute home!
ReplyDeleteI think Ben is secretly pleased that I have his find on display. I was glad to get it out of the closet!
DeleteHow did you join the seams of the beadboard on the ceiling?
ReplyDeleteThankfully I only had one seam in this room and it was on the bead side. So I could easily fill that with putty and smooth it out with my finger.
DeleteWe also used beadboard on our kitchen ceiling and ended up using 1x4's over the butt seams because there is really no pretty way to fill them. http://www.whitneysworkshop.com/2012/07/crazy-kitchen-part-two-ceiling-details.html
Thanks. We are considering something similar in our kitchen. Yours looks awesome.
