The laundry room makeover Part 3: The END!!!

Finished! Well, 98% finished as I am still adding in a few items here and there. I am so enormously pleased with how it turned out!

When I last mentioned the laundry room update we were prepping to tear out and start painting and that's just what we did!

Here you can see how simply removing the nasty shelves helped so much! (Hubby had already removed one wall of shelves in the first picture).

Just getting them down REALLY opened up the space!

Top secret way to remove wallpaper!

I have a confession... when we moved into this house I was pregnant and thought I needed to paint every room in the house all at once. By the time I painted babies room I was worn out. So when the FUGLY wallpaper border that was up would not come down with a simple tear, I did what every smart lazy person would do and bought a new wallpaper border and hung it right over the old. And it worked wonderfully... until now. (BTW, I had no problems with this method. It hung well overtop the old and you could not tell. Just putting that out there incase yall are lazy smart like I was.) Now it is time to paint the room again and the border would no longer work. It had to go!

The funny thing is, I know a pretty awesome top secret way to remove wallpaper. Well maybe it is not super top secret since there are a few internet results for it... but hey, I thought it was a top secret secret. Wanna know???

The laundry room makeover- Part 1

The time has come! After over 3 years of owning this home and loathing the nasty MDF that is my laundry room... I am FINALLY taking a hammer to it! To show you just how AWFUL my laundry room is I made a very real video... no cleaning before... just real life. Take a look...

Wallpaper!! Yes, I said wallpaper!

This weekend we spent a few hours applying a beautiful graphic print wallpaper to one wall in our bathroom. What's that? You didn't know that wallpaper is trendy again? Check it out here at HGTV.com... it can be super awesome when used just right. BUT it is hard to find an affordable and pretty print.

2012 Out 2013 In

Goodbye 2012. Like all years, there were ups and downs. I spent the first several months unable to build anything, boo. Which really ended up being okay as it got me in touch my inner crafty self during the time I was away from my saw.

A little washy wash...

The kids are home on break. We have all been all sorts of sick. I am going a little bit batty. And I NEED to do something other than sanitize puke buckets and washing laundry. A sewing project seems a little over zealous for a day like today. And for some reason this week it has started to drive me crazy to look at my shoe shelf. So I decided to wash it too. :)

The Growth Chart Bandwagon

You guys have had to of seen the wooden growth charts, right? They have been done a thousand different ways by a million different people. Just search "wood growth chart" and you will see 2,470,000 results (I kid you not, that is the actual google count as of this moment). So I am not going to bore anyone with an in depth how to. Besides... it's basically a glorified ruler. Some people act like it's rocket science! I did find that it was hard to find an easy "how-to". So in as a few words as possible... I give you growth chart... Whitney Style. :)
